ABOUT THE BUG
The Bug was always styled for the future as illustrated in Tom Karen’s original design drawings, and is the result of his mission (starting in 1952 with the Vimp) to create a “sporty two seater that applied top-of-the-range design values to a minimalist vehicle”. Tellingly, Tom and Ogle Design went on to create Luke Skywalker's Landspeeder X-34 using a Bug chassis and running gear.

Unveiled in June 1970, the Bond Bug was a bold design aimed at younger fun seeking motorists and combined economical three wheeled motoring with a sporty image.
